Mrs. Cathi Unruh
Mrs. Cathi Unruh, Chairman of the Board 2023/2024
Mrs. Unruh has been on our board since December of 2021. She brings 37 years of experience in education with her to assist our board as it makes decisions about how we can continue to strengthen and grow Valor’s ability to provide a top quality education with deep, certain moorings in the Word and heart of God for the building up of a future generation.
Mrs. Unruh has been a teacher, administrator, high school advisor, counselor, and director at two different Christian schools over the past 37 years. This past June she completed 16 years as the Director of Faith and Counseling as well as a teacher at a small, non-profit Christian school here in the South Bay.
Mrs. Unruh has a sincere desire to see God’s Word deeply implanted in the hearts of young people growing up in this challenging cultural environment. She believes that as young minds are daily given messages counter to the heart and Word of God, we must continue to provide a place where truth is clearly spoken and grace is provided to support and encourage students in their journey. She is excited to be part of continuing that work here at Valor.
Mrs. Unruh attends Sovereign Grace Fellowship, where she and her husband, Kris, help lead worship. She and Kris have been married 42 years. They have 4 married adult children and 9 grandchildren, but they have many more children and grandchildren through the body of Christ! Mrs. Unruh enjoys making music with her husband, reading, and spending time mentoring younger women with one-on-one meetings over tea or walks on the beach.
“He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intersession for them.” Hebrews 7:25
