“In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35
Each Spring, Valor Christian Academy’s 8th Grade class takes a week off campus to serve in the Los Angeles area. Working with Salvation Army, City Service Mission, Harvest Home and other independent non-profit organizations, including CSM (City Service Mission), our 8th graders work on projects that will improve the lives of many in under-privileged communities. Through devotional and sharing moments, the students are able to connect the truths of the Word to their hands-on experience and witnessing Christ’s love in action. Many students come back greatly impacted by what they have experienced, having gained an appreciation for what they have in own their lives and transformed by the power of service towards others. This week long experience further cements the 8th graders’s bond for one another and prepares them to transition to their high school years.
